Architectural
pillars or columns have been very popular
in building design for centuries.
Both for structural support and as a decorative
element, not needed for structural purposes.
There is an aesthetic aspect to columns
and so we have designed our version of what
we call, the "Pillar of Light".
Typically
pillars and columns are tall in stature.
We have designed ours to be nearly 7 ft
tall (80") for use in interior settings.
The height and 2 ft width makes them very
visible and can easily fit into a room with
an 8 ft ceiling.
These
round LED displays are museum quality. They
can be displayed in prominent high profile
environments such as hotel lobbies, restaurants,
night clubs, gentlemen's clubs, airports,
hospitals, mansions, and trade shows. They
can be viewed up close or from a distance.
Our
LED internally lighted pillars can be used
for decoration, lighting, attracting attention,
and for entertainment purposes. They can
also be used in video and film set design.
With several units, these columns can be
arranged in different layouts, such as a
circle or used to create a stunning aisle
way, like for a red carpet event.
An artist might view these illuminated columns,
as a tall cylindrical canvas. With the included
software and ones imagination, an individual
can create nearly a limitless number of
stunning effects to play back for others
enjoyment and entertainment.
Shown
to the left is a full view of the Acrylic
Pillar of Light with sixty vertical acrylic
strips surrounding the cylindrical LED screen.
The acrylic strips are edge lighted.
These
acrylic strips are 3/8" thick, 70"L
x 1.5" wide. We have frosted the sides
of the acrylic and edges to help bring out
the richness of the color. These acrylic
strips act as a diffuser for the LEDs as
well.
On both the top and bottom of the pillar
is 3/8" thick clear acrylic rings also
edge lighted and are 31"
diameter.
