Bisque

Standard "Bisque" unfinished ceramic surface is easily painted by the end-user. Although you may decide to leave the natural Bisque unfinished, the manufacture recommends that all Bisque fixtures be painted to seal the surface and make cleaning easier. It is very easy to paint Bisque. Detailed instructions are provided for each fixture purchased.

Below are a few guidelines:

• Typically, one paints the fixture using the same materials used to paint a plaster wall.
• Seal the fixture using an appropriate indoor or outdoor primer.
• Paint the fixture with the desired color using the appropriate indoor or outdoor wall paint.
• More than one coat may be necessary depending on the color and type of paint used.
• Spraying the paint onto the fixture generally results in a more even finish than brushing.
• Do not paint the inside of the fixture.

Glaze Finishes 1

A "Glaze" finish is a glass-like finish that is fired onto the surface of the fixture in a kiln at about 1900º F. The durability, depth, and purity of glaze cannot be duplicated by any other means. Custom glaze finishes are not available.

A "Faux" finish is a hand-painted finish that is individually painted onto each fixture by the manufacturer's artisans. Using multiple layers of paint and other special finishing techniques, the artisans create the look of marble, rich metal patinas, and other beautiful materials. The below faux finish textures are individually hand carved or hammered into the surface of each fixture before it is hand painted. Each piece is meticulously sculpted then finished to resemble slate, travertine stone or hammered metal. The subtle depth and color of these special finishes will provide a striking accent to any setting.
